1929

120 Champs Elysees

Founded in the exhilarating atmosphere of 1929, Maison Cherigan offers innovative creations, rich with a daring and stylish spirit that animates the capital. It perfumes those who have made Montparnasse and Montmartre their playground.

Mixed with the melodious notes of a trumpet, laughter rises, carrying the thrill of a generation.

Francis Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald dance together until dawn to an enthralling jazz tune. Josephine Baker launches herself with liberating fury onto the luxurious avenue of Champs-Élysées. At number 120, whispers of tobacco, tonka bean, and iris escape from a boutique.

On the storefront, golden letters trace its melodious name: Cherigan.

1930-1940

La Habana Cuba

As early as 1930, CHERIGAN decided to implement an outlet in La Habana, Cuba.

The city was to the U.S. what Ibiza is today to the world, the best destination to party, to gamble, with amazing bands playing until the wee hours of the day in luscious casinos.

1930-1950

Milestone fragrances

The sleek bottles of Fleurs de Tabac, Mascarades, and Chance will soon be joined by those of Bleu Impérial, Parisienne, Jupons.

The fragrances ignite on the burning skins of a thirst for the future, in rhythm with the Charleston. The allure of elsewhere beckons, travel intensifies, and the world opens up. The mysterious founder of the brand knows this well when choosing the name Cherigan.

An international sound, yet an identity so French: "chéri" is the endearing term lovers give each other as they stroll along the banks of the Seine with light steps. Quickly, the brand experiences immense popularity, particularly among cinema stars, at the dawn of Broadway's successes.

Here and there, we can read heartfelt praises from perfume lovers who have kept the bottles, making this rebirth a certainty. The spirit of the Maison has never ceased to resonate.

2016

Discovery of a hidden gem

Luc GABRIEL, our CEO and also founder of THE DIFFERENT COMPANY, has discovered CHERIGAN in 2016 while browsing historical visuals on perfume houses of the Golden Age, the 1930s.

He was immediately drawn to a name that perfectly reflects the essential values of a historical perfume house, love (Chéri, darling) and Gan (gloves) since the master gloves maker was the only profession allowed to create and sell perfume in France from 1651 until 1791.

He also discovered that CHERIGAN created CHANCE, PARISIENNE, MASCARADES, BLEU IMPERIAL and so many amazing perfumes that made history.

Immediately, Luc embarked on the project of reviving the brand and bring back the freshness, freedom and creativity of the art deco in our contemporary world. It will take him 5 years of hard work with designers, master perfumers, perfume technicians, historians and bloggers to come up with today's CHERIGAN house.

2016-2021

Rebuilding the brand and the perfumes

CHERIGAN has been blessed
with the help of friends and passionate fragrance lovers to find original
bottles of CHERIGAN all over the world, some of them in pristine condition.

Based on the literature of
the brand, the chemical analysis of the original fragrance and the expertise of
master perfumers, CHERIGAN has recreated the original perfumes while adapting the
formulas to today's constraint (regulations, disappearance of some ingredients).

A perfect balance between
vintage and contemporary, while exuding the elegance and quality that a
luxurious fragrance deserves.

As for the bottles, we have
worked with a workshop specialized in the decoration of glass bottles to find
the perfect combination of size, color and shape so that each fragrance has its
own color reflecting with the light. We use a unique and rare technique, a hand
applied layer of lacquer at the bottom of the bottle.

2022

CHERIGAN PARIS is alive again

Officially launched in January 2022, CHERIGAN is already present in more than 12 countries and in key stores like Les Senteurs London, Jovoy in Paris, Coloredo in Salzburg, Merz Apothecary in Chicago and many more.

The press has warmly welcomed this revival of the brand with 60+ articles in France alone in 2022.

2023 will see the relaunch of Bleu Imperial on a specific limited edition.

Our travel line with the Touch provides an amazing experience combining the best of technology, with a cap that integrates a specific mechanism to use the perfume drop by drop by capilarity on the skin. It is small enough to fit in a purse.

And all our fragrances are Extrait concentration, with more than 90% (up to 99% in some fragrances) and 0% potentially toxic ingredients.
